Back Porch Bakery

Branding and packaging created for a bakery in Atascadero, California. The owner wanted a new identity that showcased the quality of his bread and was more family friendly and welcoming than his previous design.

Moodboards and Process

When talking to the owner of this bakery, we were inspired by his travels and cooking life abroad in Sweden and Italy, and thought that these were experiences that made him unique. We wanted to incorporate these countries culture into his identity. During our research, we were inspired by Scandinavian art, which often featured simplified nature patterns. Additionally we were drawn to Italian signage typography, especially the rounded, single-weight script. Our solution eventually utilized a balance of both.
